Amarnath Yatra
Amarnath is 145 km east of Srinagar in Kashmir. There is an ice Silva-linga here that changes size with the seasons, and also as the moon waxes and wanes it becomes bigger and smaller. On the full moon day the linga is about 6 ft high. Each year on the full moon day of July-August (Sravana) when the Siva-linga attains its maximum height there is a festival at this cave temple. It is said that Lord Siva first appeared on this day. It is located in a glacial valley at 4,175m (13,700 ft.). The cave is about 150 feet high and 90 feet long.
ITINERARY : DELHI - SRINAGAR - SONMARG - BALTAL - SRINAGAR - DELHI
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi Garlanding on arrival, meeting and assistance and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 : In Delhi Full day tour of Old an New Delhi. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Delhi - Srinagar Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Srinagar . On arrival transfer to Deluxe Houseboat. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Srinagar-Sonmarg-Baltal ( 113 Kms. 5 Hrs. Drive Approx. ) Drive to Sonmarg (2690 m) which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. Lunch at Sonmarg, continue drive towards Baltal. Overnight in Camp.
Day 05 : Baltal- Amarnath- Baltal ( 32 Kms ) Leave early morning for Amarnath holy cave (3953 m) where you can see ice Shivlingam. This holy cave is visited by thousands of Hindu piligrims on the full moon. From Amarnath steep decend towards Baltal 4hrs walk. Over night in Camp.
Day 06 : Baltal- Sonmarg-Srinagar ( 112 Kms 5 Hrs. Drive Approx. ) After breakfast leave for Srinagar, arrive Srinagar at lunch time. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 07 : In Srinagar Morning city tour. Afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Overnight in Houseboat.
Day 08 : Srinagar - Delhi Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Dellhi .On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 : Depart Delhi In time transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
